Amisfield Walled Garden is an independent charity managed by a group of volunteer trustees all with a range of valuable skills.
Frank Kirwan, Chair
Frank trained as an economist, and worked primarily on finance and strategy in academia, business, the public and charitable sectors. As Chair Person, Frank’s role is to ensure the Board has the right members, focuses on the right issues, and has the right information.
Chris Cormack, Treasurer and Risk Manager
Chris Cormack is a retired actuary, having worked in various roles for an Edinburgh-based life assurance company, latterly in a risk management oversight role. He is the Trust’s treasurer and lead on its risk management.
Chris Avery
Chris worked as an Information Manager in the corporate sector, latterly at Wood Mackenzie in Edinburgh. Chris works alongside the Garden Co-ordinator, helping to maintain and develop the walled garden and its environs.
Lesley Henry
Lesley Henry is a retired qualified accountant, having worked in various roles for a number of Financial Services companies based in Edinburgh. She is the Trust’s Secretary and Lead Signatory for Disclosure Scotland’s PVG Scheme.
Steve Gowenlock
Steve worked as a children and families social worker and in social work education for over thirty years. He has considerable experience of creating, developing and managing projects in the voluntary sector. He brings experience of fundraising within the third sector to Amisfield.
